They call it Type III Diabetes Mellitus (DM) or gestational diabetes for pregnant women!. Onset usually happens during pregnancy!. Reversal happens after termination of pregnancy!.

Normally it does return to a pre-diabetic state, though that's not the case in everyone's situation!.
Although it tends to be comparatively rare, some women do continue to have diabetes!. I'm not sure of statistics on whether they become type 1 or type 2, but it seems that the pregnancy itself sometimes sparks off either destruction of Islets of Langerhans (the beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin) or insulin resistance!.
Have you been made aware that because you're now suffering with gestational diabetes that this puts you at added risk for developing 'full blown' diabetes later in life!? Sadly, this is a fact!.

Usually the blood sugar level does return to normal!. I know it's hard not to worry, but try not to!. Think on good things!. You'll have a beautiful grand baby shortly!. You all are in my prayers!. Sincerely!.

I had this in both pregnancies and yes it returns to normal after!. The mother will be asked to go for a test after to make sure the levels are back to normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
