Question: I have strep throat and I need to know what's okay!.!?
For a while, I had a sore throat and thought nothing of it, but then went on Web MD and found that my symptoms matched strep perfectly!. So I went in, got diagnosed and got an antibiotic prescription!. The doctor said after the first day of antibiotic treatment I'd feel a whole lot better!. He was wrong!.
I've also been having trouble sleeping, and the pain was baaad yesterday!. I took 4 Vicodin in one dose, is that horribly bad!? Because it dulled some of the pain and made me sleepy, so I was fine with the results!.
I would also like to know how many Ibuprofen is safe to take!. Like, maximum number of pills!. Can I take more than 2 at a time!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

A word of advice from a 3rd year medical student: 4 vicodin is terrible! Those are opioids, and an overdose could kill you by stopping your breathing! As for the ibuprofen, up to 4 in one dose is ok (800 mg), but I don't recommend it!. If you do, limit the number of doses you take in a day (like do it once), or it can seriously get dangerous (messes with your kidneys, etc)!.
If you have FINISHED the antibiotic prescription the doctor gave you and you still have symptoms with no improvement, the strain of strep you have might be resistant to that drug!. Go back to the doctor and get a different prescription, and make sure they culture it this time!. If you have having low back pain now this is a sign that your kidneys are involved (not uncommon) and you need to go back to the doc for a shot of penicillin!.

All of the pain pills in the world aren't going to solve it, you need direct treatment!. You possibly could have a staph infection instead of strep, you need a throat culture done to determine just what is the bacteria causing the problem!.
Don't try to get diagnosed on the internet!. Noone can properly determine your problem over a computer/

DO NOT do that again with the Vicodin, you're lucky you didn't die in your sleep!. And don't take more than 2 ibuprofen at a time b/c you will cause a stomach bleed and kidney problems!.
If you're not feeling better after one day on the antibiotics then it's possible that they misdiagnosed you and gave you the wrong type of antibiotics!. You should go back to the doctor!.
In the meantime, get sore throat spray!. You spray it in the back of your throat and it numbs it right up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

call the doctor!. a doctor would also not prescribe antibiotics without doing a test first!. strep throat can do major damage if untreated!. but keep taking the antibiotics!. where in the world did you get vicodin from!?!?!?!? call the doctor to run tests on you if you're in that much pain!. i would take 3, 4 MAX ibuprofenWww@Answer-Health@Com
too much ibuprofen and it will stop working ( as if u get immune to it)
take the antibiotics untill ALL of them are done, even if u feel better before that, or it could come back!.
I dunno why the doc said it would be ok after a day!.!.!.usually takes a lil while 2 or 3 i'd say!

well look on the back of the ibuprofen and depending on your hieght and weight it will tell you how many is safe for you!. I've had strep a ton of limes and it's not fun! FEEL BETTER!! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
drink tons of water!. try to avoid bubbly stuff like soda!. it could irritate your throat farther!. taking 4 vicodin in one dose is pretty bad it's like almost od'ing check with your dr!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
not sure about your questions (sorry) but buy some of that throat spray they sell at rite aid it taste nasty but ull get used ot it and it helps ALOT!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
