Does HSV2 automatically mean genital herpes?!

Question: Does HSV2 automatically mean genital herpes!?
I was recently diagnosed for hsv2 but I don't ever recall having blisters!. The tests came back negative for hsv1 but last year I got a pimple in the corner of my mouth which burst leaving a sore but a pharmacist advised it could just a infection as I hadn't had a cold sore before a few days later a pimple occured on the other side of my mouth and did the same thing!.!.!. any possiblity that hsv2 is not specific to genital herpes and if it isn't am I still at risk with passing on hsv2 thru intercourse!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Both hsv-1 and hsv-2 can occur in either area!.

As it happens, while 95% of oral herpes infections are caused by hsv-1, about 5% are caused by hsv-2!.

Hsv-1 causes most cold sores, but it also causes 50-70% of genital herpes infections!. Nothing is so clear cut as some answerers try to make out!.

If you have oral hsv-2, it is likely that after the first outbreak you would never get another!. But you can still pass it on!. That means it is risky to give oral sex!.

If you have it on your mouth, you cannot spread it from your genitals, but unfortunately in this case you cannot afford to assume you have it on the mouth - it is still more likely that you have it genitally (80% of infected people have no symptoms at all)!. So at the very least, you need to act as if you have it genitally, inform your partners and take precautions like you have it genitally and orally!.

If at a later date, you get symptoms in either location, you can get a swab test to try and clarify where you have it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HSV2 is genital herpes!. HSV stands for Herpes Simplex Virus, so yes you have genital herpes!. You don't have to have outbreaks to prove you have it, but it means you have it and can pass herpes to others!. Some people have herpes and never have outbreaks at all and therefore don't know it!. It's good you know so you can notify whoever you sleep with and take the proper precautions from spreading it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Good question! As I'm sure you know, HSV1 is commonly called oral herpes, and HSV2 is commonly called genital herpes, but that's only because that's where they usually occur!. People can contract HSV1 in the genital area, and they can contract HSV2 in the oral area!. They're not "native" to either region, which means that having either one in one area does not necessarily mean having it in the other!. If you've never had a single breakout in your genital area, then it's unlikely that it's in your genital area!.

Please ask your doctor anyway, just to be safe, and be sure to let all of your partners know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HSv2 refers to genital herpes!. HSV1 referes to the oral type of herpes (cold sores)!. both types come from the same herpes virus, but both types can affect either the mouth or genitals!. they are usually passed on through either oral or regular intercourse!.
u are more at risk of passing herpes on if u have an outbreak then when u are not!. but there is still a small risk of passing herpes on when there are no outbreaks!. unless u are taking some suppressive medication, that would further reduce your risk of passing herpes on durring intercourse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This IS NOT your life!.!.!.just another thing to deal with!.!.!.and know this - you are in control!.!.!.and you can prevent this from happening to someone you care about!.!.!.millions and millions of people have this and so many are too prideful to admit it and as a result pass it along to unsuspecting and trusting people!.!.!.sexual contact (kissing, intercourse, etc!.!.!.) needs to involve trust and communication!.!.!.unfortunately you have been a victim of someone else's ignorance pride, and or carelessness!.!.!.thanks for being brave enough to ask for advise on this forum!.!.!.please educate yourself as much as possible, this will get easier over time and won't ruin your life!.!.!.just be honest and upfront with your future love interests so that they have the opportunity to be educated and see through this and not judge you!. Seriously, my stepmom has herpes cold sores!.!.!.not all the time but we don't refrain from showing her affection, we just don't smooch her on the mouth during those times!.!.!.she is a beautiful precious woman!.!.!.you're more likely to catch hepatitis from drinking or eating after someone than spreading this to someone else if you are conscientious about your habits and educated!.!.!.!.sorry to blab!.!.!.but I have had a friend go through this and she was so heartbroken!.!.!.but she's fine now!.!.!.and with someone who is understanding and not an ignorant prideful careless individual who see beyond this physical issues of the human body and to the heart!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
