Question: What are these symptoms indicative of!?
One enlarged and painful tonsil, blisters in throat which hurt very badly (dr!. said it was "pharyngitis") NO FEVER, bad headache, enlarged lymph nodes in neck!? First, they thought it was tonsilitis but I didn't have a fever, said it might be MONO but i'm at a college so they didn't do the test!. Doctor said it was probably a viral infection, but I thought you had to have a fever with that!? Anyone know!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Hopefully the doctor did a throat culture!. It sounds like pharyngitis, which is a throat infection!. It is most likely viral (no temp), but usually they check for Strep!. Most doctors will only give antibiotics if you have strep!.

In the mean time, take ibuprofen for pain and gargle with warm salt water (1-2 tsp of salt in a glass of warm water)!. This helps with pain and also kills the germs causing your sore throat!. Suck on lozenges (like cepastat or other sore throat lozenge) to help with comfort!. Hopefully it will pass soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yea I think a fever accompanies a viral infection but I'm not a doctor so I'm not 100% sure!.

Have you been tested for STD's!? Chlymidia and herpes can get in the throat not just the genitals!.

How long have you had these symptons!? Honestly it could be the flu also!. Lots of people think the flu is just throwing up and diahreah but there are different types of the flu!.

There isn't usually doctors on here so I would suggest a second opinion from another health professional!. Why didn't they test for Mono!? They should have if they suspected it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drinking water with a high bacteria count can do that, drink bottled water next time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
