Please help I am afraid to go into high elevation or the mountains I have data a!

Question: Please help I am afraid to go into high elevation or the mountains I have data am I crazy!?
From the age of 15 -20 I smoked marijuana and tobacco daily!.
And then quit for 5 years during this time I went into the mountains at elevations from 5-8000ft with no problem!. I then started to smoke tobacco again at age 25 for 2 years and have quit recently for 1 year and this time forever!. I have read that pilots need oxygen at 12000ft pilots who smoke need it 4000 ft lower!. A pack day smoker at sea level is constantly or
always at 5000 ft in terms of oxygen!. This terrifies me my resting heart rate is 70 to 80 bmp i live at 800 ft can run the mile on level ground ok and lift weights twice a week!. I used to be able to run much more and had a resting heart rate of 58 this makes me think that my heart is working to hard to keep up!. My oxygen levels are at 96 98 and 100% it varies!. Im afraid that my heart will race as it seems to do at upper elevation and I might pass out!. Im not afarid of alltitude sickness so much its a bit different!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I am sure you will have to pass a physical before they will let you do anything in the military!. Your oxygen levels are really good, if they range from 96% to 100% as you say!. Anything 90% or higher is considered normal!. Of course they like it to be mid to high 90's to 100%!. I hope you have quit smoking now!. A resting heart rate of 60bpm to 100bpm is normal range!. So, yours sounds good!. If you are concerned, go to your doctor!. Ask him/her if they will do a PFT, (Pulmonary Funtion Test)!. I hope this has been some help to you!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
