If I have had epileptic seizures in the past, should I tell my bf about it?!

Question: If I have had epileptic seizures in the past, should I tell my bf about it!?
I haven't had any in almost a year!. Never had one in public!. I have learned to control them because I feel it coming so I can stop them before they start!. The last one was different!. Anyways!.
Should I tell him that!? Should I explain to him what it is or will he run away right after hearing the word "epilepsy"!? lol!. I hear all those stories about people being scared of that!.!.!. :-SWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I would!.!.!.!. chances are it won't even affect him or how he views you, but what if you two were alone, and you had a seizure, would he know what to do, or would he try to shove something in your mouth so you don't "swallow your tounge" which you know as well as I, is not the proper way to handle a seizure!.!.!.!.

I would just in general conversation, one day, if something about health issues or concerns come up, be like oh yeah btw, nothing you need to worry about, but in the past I've had seizures, its been a while since I've had one but just wanted you to know so you don't flip out god forbid if it ever happened when I was with you!.!.!.

I have a prosthesis, *artificial leg*, that was always an interesting conversation to have with a guy, and I never ever told them the first time we went out!.!.!.!. I was always scared they would run the other direction, but those concerns were unfounded, I never had anyone "run away" because I had a prosthesis!.!.!.!. so if I were you I wouldn't worry!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Miava,

Like you, I have learned to control my attacks and stop them before they start but sometimes, because of unavoidable circumstances, they still come but last only for a few seconds!.

I advice you not to be in a hurry to have a boyfriend!. It's when you're in a rush that the more you won't find one or better yet, you won't find the best for you!.

If "Mr!. Right" comes along, feel free to tell him and he will surely understand!. In fact, he will be glad that you informed him while it's still early!. Along the way, you'll see how much he loves you!. "If he can take you for who you are", fine!. If not, get rid of him!. You'll find other guys!.

A friendly advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think you should tell him!. Some people in my family have epilepsy and nobody judges them, and it better if he knows because if it does happen that you can't control one he'll know what to do or won't freak out as much!. He would probably be more mad if he finds out by you having a seizure then if you tell him!. He wont freak out, if he does, you deserve better!. Maybe you should tell him after a month or two!. That way he'll have time to fall in love with your personality, instead of only knowing you for epilepsy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes!. tell him everything!. it is nothing to be ashamed about!. if he can't handle it, he isn't the guy for you!. most people who run away from things do it because they are not informed!. print out information for him to read and also tell him what you would need if you were to seize!. he needs to be aware for YOUR safety!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry to disappoint you!. There is no way to control
an epileptic seizure without medication!. You may
have had a breakdown of sorts, i've had a seizure
disorder for more than 30yrs!. Seen several doctors,
specialist included!. Medication is only prevention at
this point in time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
