aloe vera is great to soothe it, as well as wet washcloths!.
make sure you moisturise your skin to prevent it from peeling!.
As an Australian I have felt your pain, the best way to prevent sunburn is not just to apply sunblock but also to wear hats, sit in the shade and cover your skin!. if you are sunbaking, make sure you have strong enough sunblock for the place you are (I always use SPF30+ because the sun is so strong here) and turn over every 15 minutes!. Dont use tanning oils unless the sun isnt strong as they burn your skin!.
and what ever you do DONT fall asleep in the sun!. my sister had massive blisters on her back for months after doing that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
