What drug?!

Question: What drug!?
I was with a friend and we found a drug stash!. It was off whitish powder( I thought it might have been coke) and it tasted sort of salty, because of that my sister said it could have been heroine!. Well My friend and I had had coffee and monster and we thought it would be funny to put it in our drinks so we did!. we ate some too and accidentally had 1 snort!. I felt sick and lost my appitite, she actually ate every 5 seconds though!. I didn't think we took enought to get high or anything, the only reason I am wondering is because I think I might of hullucinated that night, but how come we were acting different, can it effect people differently, does it depend on the size of your body and how much you take!. I don't know what it was and I was hoping somone might reconize it and I don't know if I got high and hullucinated or if I didn't get high and I really did experience what I think I experienced!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, it was not a smart move to try an unidentified substance, especially when you suspect it to be a drug!. You could have done serious damage to your health -- if the powder is concentrated enough, even a small amount can be lethal!.

As for what the substance may be, well, it can literally be ANYTHING -- it may not even be a drug!. Those in the drug business often possess non-drug powders -- either to sell to inexperienced but curious buyers like you, or to use as cutting agents!. http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Cutting_age!.!.!.

If the powder was inert, your reactions were then simply what YOU imagined a drug reaction should be (placebo effects)!.

Even if the substance was actually pharmacologically active, it's not surprising for two people to have very different reactions, especially when different amounts were ingested!.

Take the most commonly used/abused substance, alcohol!. It is actually a "depressant" of nerve cells -- that's why when people drink too much they pass out in deep slumber!. However, when only a small amount is consumed, it "depresses" the inhibitory nerve cells first -- in other words, it takes away people's inhibitions!. That's why "drunk" people are loud and rowdy!.

Another example is morphine (which heroine is close cousin of)!. Morphine is commonly abused, because it can produce euphoria!. However, many people who have never had morphine before will feel nauseous or even throw up the first time they receive it!. This is because morphine hits an area of brain associated with nausea and vomiting called chemoreceptor trigger zone: http://www!.nauseaandvomiting!.co!.uk/NAVRE!.!.!.

Anyway, the most important message to take away is to STAY AWAY from unknown substances -- unless you want to fry your brain for science: http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/MPTP
