Question: MRSA carriers: Do you feel like a pariah!?
I had this AWFUL abscess on my face, and it was determined it was caused by MRSA!. Then the nurses started wearing new gowns and always wearing gloves, and I felt like a major source of infection!. Then, I get to walk free and infect the whole world, which I don't want to do, of course!. I feel afraid to tell others about it because I think they might be afraid of me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well firstly i don't blame the nurses for taking extra precautions because it's just protocal!. They don't want to be infected themselves and ESPECIALLY not to infect other patients because MRSA is difficult to treat!.
i'm sure you are on a course of antibiotics (probably vancomycin) and once you're infection + abcess has cleared you won't be a major source of infection to world!.
i guess you should warn other people while you are still carrying the infection!.!.and especially warn elderly people, young children and those who already have a serious infection like pneumonia, etc!.!.!.because these are the groups of people with weak immune systems!.!.!.!.it's just a very ethical thing to do!.
also try to stay away from crowded places and sharing things with people where it would be easier to spread the infection!.
and those who treat you weird probably don't know what the heck MRSA is anyways!.
