You could be contagious to people who haven't had chicken pox!. You should also stay clear of pregnant women b/c shingles can harm their baby!.

A person with shingles can pass the virus to individuals who have never had chickenpox, but these individuals will develop chickenpox not shingles!. A person with chickenpox cannot communicate shingles to someone else!. In order for people to develop shingles they must already harbor the virus in their nervous system, and for those who do harbor the virus, having contact with someone with chickenpox will not trigger shingles!. Additionally, a person with shingles cannot communicate shingles to another individual!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My hubby just got diagnosed with shingles today!. Our doc said he isn't contagious to adults that have had chicken pox, but he is very contagious (through touch) to kids who haven't had chicken pox (or adults who have)!. Definitely get on the treatment right away, and stay away from pregnant ladies and babies! And old people, they tend to be a little more prone to getting it, and it is hard for them to fight it!.

Good luck, I know it hurts a ton - Ibuprofin is helping with my hub's pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If someone has never had chickenpox, it is possible for someone to contract chickenpox from you with direct contact with shingles!. It is the same virus!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Shingles are not contagious, they are just painful!. Don't worry, no one will get them from you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
