Answers:
"First stages" is a good thing!. It means the cancer has not progressed very far!. I don't know--really no one knows--if it is curable, but in the early stages the chances for cure are much better!. Best wishes to all your family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are over 200 different types of cancer !. !. some more treatable than others !. !. all cancer is considered 'progressive' !. !. which means it starts out as one tiny little microscopic cell that mutates!. The cancer cell loses the ability to stop growing (normal cells will stop when they reach the complete stage) !. !. cancer cells were once normal cells that have forgotten how to stop growing and will continue indefinitely unless treated!. Almost all types of cancer is staged according to how far the disease has progressed !. !. !. so a Stage 1 disease means that cancer cells are present, perhaps with small nodules !. !. Stage 2 means that even more cells, nodules, or tumors are present !. !. Stage 3 means that not only are more cells and tumors present but they are now growing into or onto healthy tissue !. !. Stage 4 means that the cells are now tumors !. !. maybe more than one, growing into tissue, maybe infecting the blood or lymphatic system by sending off tiny new 'cancer' mutations into the blood stream and all through the body (metastatic cancer)!. All stages of cancer are treatable, but the most difficult is Stage 4 because it has spread throughout the body!. What that means is that now the cancer can start growing new tumors somewhere else !. !. in the lung, the brain, the liver, the bones !. !. those cancer cells from the first site have spread!. That is hard to stop !. !. not impossible !. !.but hard and survival depends on the health of the patient, age, response to treatment, location of the tumors, type, and stage of disease!.

If you look at the illustrations above !. !. you will see what a Stage 1 cancer generally will look like !. !. you don't say what type of cancer your grandfather has !. !. but looking at the images gives you an idea about what the stages will look like for any cancers!. Stage 1 is easier to treat because it is small enough to remove safely !. !. it is easier to treat because there is a better chancer of removing all the cancer cells !. !. !. but it is still dangerous because it will only take 1 cancer cell left behind after treatment to start the whole disease over again!. That is why people are saying that Stage 1 is good !. !. but there is no guarantee !. !. still there is hope for your grandfather since this was found in the early stages!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm really sorry about your grandfather!. In the first stages, cancer is treatable, but as to whether its curable will depend on the type of cancer and where it is!.

The important thing is not to jump to the worst conclusion!. Wait for all the tests to come back first and then take it from there!.

I'm sorry there's not much I can say to help ease your mind, other than to tell you I really do know how you feel, as I lost my mother to cancer!.

Take care, feel free to e-mail if I can offer any more help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It all depends on the TYPE of cancer!.
Early or first stage usually, not always, USUALLY, means they've (the doctors) have caught it early and it's highly treatable!.
Ask your Mom outright and tell her to be honest with you!. You sound mature enough to ask!.
Maybe the two of you can sit at the computer together and research the issue together!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
