Question: Please can someone help!?
My uncle is 68 yrs old and 3 yrs ago he was told he had brain stem cancer, he had an operation and all was good!.
But then 8 mths old it has come back worse, he has had an operation 5-6 weeks ago!. But my problem is i live in plymouth and he lives in london, I'm only getting information throgh a family friend but i feel they are holding something from me as why is he still in hospital if the operation went well and why will he go right into a home!. Is he dieing!? Please honnest answers i need to know!. Thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

This must be a very difficult time for you!.
Unfortunately a hospital will only give telephone info to the next of kin - understandably due to client confidentiality!.
Can you speak directly to a family member, rather than a family friend!?
None of us is privy to your uncles medical circumstances, so our opinions are only opinions!.
The real issue i guess is whether you take a trip to London!. If it is important that you see your Uncle, seize the day and go and see him!. If he is dying then you may have a window of opportunity to speak with him & say your goodbyes, if he is not dying, he will no doubt love to see you & appreciate your support!. Trust your instincts and do what you feel is right!.!.!.i suspect you already know the answer!.!.!.!.!.

Well the surgery was on the BRAIN STEM which is the stem of the brain at the base of the skull!. It's too bad they didn't follow up with some kind of chemo or something too (the first time)!.
There are over 200 types of cancers, some are really horrid and agressive and just when you think you've got them beat they are back!. I have a good friend lost her daughter to ALS and they had almost given her a complete bill of health and recovery!. She didn't even last months!.
It could be your uncle's surgery was very invasive!. He might have other complications which have arisen (infection, heart, blood pressure, etc!.)

Honestly, the chances are he may be!. Brain-related cancers don't generally have very good survival rates!. Given his age and the fact that he relapsed also add to the chances are that things may not be going well!.
On the bright side though, they may just still be unsure of what is happening, as recovery from brain surgery can take a long time!. So they may not want to worry you until they have definite answers!.

I wish I could give you better news, but cancer of the brain stem doesn't have a very good outlook!. He may be going to a home because he is terminal!. I'm sorry!. Pray for him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I am not a doctor!. I did have a relative that had breast cancer, so I can give you a little information on what I know!.
First, every situation is different!. It sounds like they thought they got all the cancer 3 years ago when they operation!. It could have gone into recession and now it is back!. So, they did another operation to see if they can get the rest!. They may have, or they may have not gotten the rest of the cancer!. They may have found more cancer and it may be at a more serious level!. On the other hand, after surgery, sometimes people have to stay in the hospital longer to stablize, or even go into a nursing home to go through rehabilitation!. That takes some time!. I would thing that brain surgery would be a very serious thing!. I think the brain stem helps control a lot of things in the body!.
I hope he is getting better!. People do survive things like this!. At least he has been treated before and this is not the first time!. So, at least they had some sort of control over it at one time!. I know this is hard!. When my cousin went through this, my mom felt like my aunts were not telling her everything!.
So, be patient and hopeful, and send him a card to let him know you love him!. You could send it to your friend and have your friend give it to him or read it to him!. Your uncle needs to know that you love him!. I'm sure he knows!.
