Glucophage/Metformin is a systemic drug!. It takes about 3 weeks for it to become fully effective in the body and another 3 weeks to wear back off when quitting it!.

It will take about 3 weeks for the lack of met to show in your friend!.

It does NOT cause high blood pressure! that is one of the things it doesn't do!.

So sorry your friend does not want to control their glucose levels and their blood pressure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately, high blood sugar often goes hand in hand with high B/P!. It is just another complication of having this disease He should not stop his glucophage without a consult with the doctor!. Most people have very little side effects from taking this medication after the first few weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe your friend has changed his diet as well and that is helping keep his blood sugar down!? Diet and exercise can sometime be enough and no medication is needed!. I would highly recommend that before depending on medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

your friend is in denial!.!.!.eventually it will catch up with him, his blood sugars will go up, and he will feel worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
