No, there's no reason to think that!. The most important organ affected is the Liver!.
You should make sure he sees a doctor and that the proper blood tests are done!. Just because it looks like mono and acts like it doesn't mean that it is!.
I was diagnosed with Mono decades ago!. Felt like it!. Then I had it a second time!. I've never had Mono as it turns out!.
It is one of at least five liver infections (layman's terms) you can have!. I had toxoplasmoisis, which you can get from eating bad shellfish or cats!. Hepatitus is another and there are several forms of it!. If it is hepatitus, you need to know!.
He should see a doctor, so that at least there is a baseline for future comparisons!.

It is rare that the spleen ruptures because of mono!. Mono does however enlarge the spleen!. Here is a website about mono and the effects it has with the spleen!.

let's hope you have a doctor treating him!. Mono can be a terrible thing if not caught and treated in time and by a doctor and under careful watch!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
