Type 1's...what's the highest BG you've ever experienced?!
Question: Type 1's!.!.!.what's the highest BG you've ever experienced!?
I'm just curious!.!.!.when I was diagnosed, I was in a coma and I've known since then that my BG at the time was off the charts, but a nurse recently told me she'd heard one even higher!.!.!.so I'm curious what kinds of crazy BG's people here have survived!. We Type 1's are incredible, aren't we!?

My son, who was 2 at diagnosis, was 1250!. They called him the miracle baby for even surviving!.

My little girl was pretty lucky, she was in the 400's fasting and in the 600's after eating when she was first diagnosed!.
She's had a few highs since then, but fortunately never so high that her meter couldn't read it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Highest was when I was diagnosed, which was 630!. The only time HI showed up on my meter was during the first week of being diabetic!. I've had numbers in the 400's and 500's a couple times too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Home meters don't have the ability to read numbers over 600-800 (Depending on meter)!. My mother and sister have both tested HI (meaning over that limit)!. Mom's also been in ketoacidosis, which is really high blood sugars!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was only 260 at diagnosis, but I've been higher!. I'm not sure what the actual number was though, the meter read HI, so all I know was that is was over 600!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
At diagnosis, my daughter had a BG of 535!. She has had one over 600 before, but the home meter doesn't go higher than that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
My blood sugar was 800 at diagnosis!. I too have had ketoacidosis, and it stinks!!! 1140 is outrageous!!! Glad your doing good now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
