Hi, I get vertigo too!. I used to take betahistine and found that it sometimes helped (you need a prescription) but sometimes it just didn't seem to have any effect!. Also, you could try buccastem if your vertigo is more severe (also on prescription)!. It also stops you from vomiting or having nausea because of the vertigo!.
Really the best thing is to just stay still!. if you move around, you upset your inner ear even more!. Activities like reading or anything else that makes your eyes focus on something close to you will make it worse (just like if you read on a bus or in a car) as you're sending different signals to your brain - your inner ear is telling your brain you're moving but your eyes are focusing on something that is staying completely still so they're telling your brain that you're staying still!. This can make the vertigo worse and cause more motion sickness or nausea!.

I'm assuming you've seen your doctor about it!?!? There is a manoeuver that can be done to cure vertigo but only should be done by a professional!. It only works in certain cases too!. Some people get sudden severe vertigo caused by crystals of calcium becoming dislodged in the inner ear!. A specialist can move them quickly into different positions to put the crystals back into place which will be an instant cure!. But you do need to see someone about it to see if this is definitely your case!.

Obviously, if you haven't seen a doctor about it, do go and see one because the best cure for vertigo is to treat the cause of it!. If you're away from home, if you have some prescription medication, you should just take a tablet and try to get somewhere you can lie down or get home if you can - I don't know how badly it effects you, whether you could still walk and stand up or not!.

Obviously do not drive when you have vertigo and try your best to just stay still!. I find mine worsens if I move my head quickly or if I walk around a lot!.

Oh ginger is good for motion sickness if you get it, so you could eat ginger nut biscuits! I found that helped a bit!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

do the vertigo exercise but make sure you have someone with you if in case you feel dizzy!.!. but i'm warning you, this exercise is annoying to those suffering from it!. A vertigo exercise can be done while reclining, sitting up or when walking: The Brant-Doroff exercise for vertigo is one way you can speed up the healing process and bring an end to the symptoms!. The steps in this procedure are:

1!. Sit on the edge of the bed and lean quickly to the side that is causing the most symptoms of vertigo!.
2!. Remain in this position for 30 seconds or until the vertigo goes away if it is less than that amount of time!.
3!. Sit up!. If symptoms reappear, wait until they subside!. Repeat the procedure on the other side!.
This vertigo exercise should be done at least 20 times a day!.

Another exercise you can do is to turn in place!. Place the chair in front of you and have a wall behind you so you can use either of them for support!.

1!. Stand with you feet slightly apart and with your arms by your sides!.
2!. Turn a half-circle and stop for 10 seconds!. If there is any dizziness, wait until it subsides!.
3!. Repeat this exercise 5 times, twice a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
