?What happened to the bird flu that was supposed to kill millions of us, accordi!

Question: ?What happened to the bird flu that was supposed to kill millions of us, according to the media!?
Answers:
The Influenza A virus we are all familiar with( "the flu") is a decedent from an original avian strain!. Influenza pandemics are expected 3-4 times a century!. In the 1900's there were 4 pandemics, the largest killing over 20 million in1918; others in 1957, 1968, and 1977!. This pandemic frequency suggests that we will be experiencing one soon; therefore, we are on the lookout for potential threats!. The most threatening strain as of now is the Influenza A H5N1, which is a newly arisen strain that commonly affects birds and has the potential, although rare, to infect humans!.

The concern is that this virus will mutate into a new strain with the ability to infect humans more frequently and to spread from human to human!. Since the Influenza virus is an RNA virus, it has a high potential to mutate, allowing for new strains to easily arise!. Although Vaccines have been developed, they are not full proof because of the short time it takes for a new, nonaffected strain to arrise!.

Overall, the Influenza A H5N1 or "bird flu" virus is still around, and still infecting people; however, it has not obtained the ability to spread from human to human, making the infections limited!. An influenza pandemic is due soon and health care officials see the H5N1 strain as having the greatest potential for infection; therefore, awareness through public media and greater health regulations are being developed alongside of vaccines to prevent a pandemic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Through swift containment and public awareness!. We have removed the threat to humans!. The bird Flu is still out there and does endanger animals and still holds the possibility of infecting humans if we aren't diligent in our sanitation efforts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
