This pandemic frequency suggests that we will be experiencing one soon; therefore, we are on the lookout for potential threats!. The most threatening strain as of now is the Influenza A H5N1, which is a newly arisen strain that commonly affects birds and has the potential, although rare, to infect humans!.
The concern is that this virus will mutate into a new strain with the ability to infect humans more frequently and to spread from human to human!. Since the Influenza virus is an RNA virus, it has a high potential to mutate, allowing for new strains to easily arise!. Although Vaccines have been developed, they are not full proof because of the short time it takes for a new, nonaffected strain to arrise!.
