Answers:
Your girlfriend's chances of having breast cancer are very low indeed - almost zero!.

It is largely a disease of ageing - 80% of those diagnosed are over 50, and women in their 20s and 30s with breast cancer are considered young to have it and account for only a very small percentage of those diagnosed!.

It is EXTREMELY rare in a teenager!.

Even in adult women (including the over 50s) most breast lumps aren't cancerous!. Most cancerous breast lumps aren't painful!.

I'm sorry to hear she lost her mother so young; however her mother having had lung cancer doesn't increase the chances of her having breast cancer at all!.

I'm glad she's seeing her doctor; though almost certainly not cancer, any unexplained lump should be investigated!. Her doctor should be able to reassure her; meanwhile I hope the facts I've given you will help you both to worry less about thisWww@Answer-Health@Com

Likely not, but she should go see a doctor!. Cancerous lumps are not painful, they are hard and have no feeling generally!. Sounds like a benign cyst or calcification at her age!. Any doctor should be able to determine what it is, and if they need to, they may contact a specialist for a consult (Gynocologist or Oncologist likely)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1being 17, the chance oher having breast cancer is low!. her mum dieing of lung cancer wont have an affect on her having breast cancer!. its probably just a cyst!. but still go 2 the doctor anyway, theres no harm in just making sureWww@Answer-Health@Com

at her age the odds are very low!. it might have been a cyst!. I don't believe cancerous lumps hurt!. Cysts do!. Going to the doctor is her best bet!. Hope that helps!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
