Answers:
Sore throat and congestion are more likely signs of a viral infection than of food poisioning!. Sounds like the diarrhea and nausea are part of the virus running its course!. There are literally thousands of viruses that can cause gastrointestinal symptoms!.

Sounds like your infection is self limiting, and as long as you and your family are "getting over it", then there's not much to worry about!. Infections are part of the natural course of life!. Even with salmonella, it is a limited infection, and aside from serious complications, this too shall pass!. Many people who have food borne infections brush it off as "the flu" and never think more than that!. Adding antibiotics can complicate matters, so if you're feeling better, it's best to leave things at that!.

Your best bet at this point is to clean your house very well with a disinfectant such as bleach or lysol!. Encourage your husband and son to wash their hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer as necessary!. If your husband and son still have diarrhea, consider a BRAT diet, and keep them out of the kitchen!.

Sounds like everyone is on the mend and things are just running their course!. Hope everyone feels better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Did your husband and son have the tomatoes!?
Congestion and sore throat is not usually a sign of food poisoning, it is possible you or your son picked up a virus, stomach virus' in particular spread quick and have a 3 day incubation period usually when one is ill, within 3 days another will become ill unless you keep up on handwashing and discinfect areas that the person ill has come into contact with!.
Hope you feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It appears to be more like a viral gastroenteritis super added by salmonellosis!.You may go for Ciprofloxacin-tinidazole combination for 3 to 5 days, under medical advice for achieving immediate relief!.
More importantly please do not forget to take ORS powder with boilled and cooled water, and bland liquid diet!.
And if the vomitings or the diarrhoea is a little more severe never hesitate to visit the hospital for IV fluids and admission under specialist supervision!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
