Question: My father has congestive heart failure and has been fainting alot lately!.!.!. whats going on!?
My father was diagnosed about a yr!. ago with congestive heart failure!. He goes to the V!.A hospital!. (veterans) about every month or every other month!. We found out that he doesnt have a blockage and that his heart is not bad its just over worked!. He has started having black outs where he just faints and cant remember what happened!. Im really worried about him!. He told his doctor about his fainting but I dont think they know exactly why!. He takes like over 15 pills a day for cholesterol, heart, muscle pain and etc!.!. he is a welder and works in really hot weather here in texas!. he also has carpal tunnel syndrome and eats bad!. has anyone gone through this or has their loves ones!? im so afraid something bad is about to happen i just want to know whats next!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The other contributor was right that many things could contribute to your father's fainting spells!. Go with him to the VA and ask them to seriously look at it!. Have a doctor go through his chart and look closely at all of his labs and treatments!. Also have a clinical pharmacist look closely at his medications!. Since he takes 15 pills a day, there is a lot of opportunities for interactions!. Many BP meds cause dizziness or fainting!. Don't be scared to insist on this!. If his current physician won't do it, get someone else!.
BTW, the VA actually provides great care!. I wish I could be covered under the VA but I'm not willing to enroll in the miliary!. They use great technology and all of a patient's chart is in the VA system so that each practitioner can see what the others are doing (that cuts down on duplicate therapy and potential interactions, provides documentation, etc)!. Also, the VA will cover many meds that a lot of Medicare Part D plans will not cover!. The government may do a lot of screwy things with healthcare but they provide good health coverage to their soldiers and vets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Considering you live in a warm climate and he's a welder maybe he doesn't get enought fluids in his body!. Also considering he has congestive heart failure he should start eating more healthy!. I would suggest that he go to the doctor and have them run some tests!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Poor health care, poor diet, CHF, breathing welding fumes, infrequent doctor visits!. And you expect this man to survive!? You had better get him some better health care PRONTO!. V!. A!. hospitals are government run clinics and not the way to go with CHF!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
