Why do my eyes leak when I'm sad?!

Question: Why do my eyes leak when I'm sad!?
Answers:
The function of tears is to lubricate the eyes and keep them clean, and eyelids help to keep the eyes moist!. However, in times of stress all animals need to keep their eyes WIDE open!.

Tears are a natural reaction to stress!. They keep the eyes wet in case there is a need to be hyper-alert--unblinking!. However, in humans there is a refinement of this!. We cry due to any strong emotion!. This is a clue as to the evolution of emotion!.

Freud figured out that there are two basic impulses in all life: increase in pressure and relief of pressure!. Both together are pleasureable, but they are also stressful!. It's like it's really pleasurable to pop a pimple, but it's also painful!.

I know that's a really banal example, but it's like a geometry axiom!. If you understand a simple concept, you can make all sorts of inferences from it!. We shed tears when we get worked up emotionally because our primitive ancestors reacted this way to stress, which happens to be the prototype of all emotion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
