My two year old has shingles, does this mean his immune system is weak?!

Question: My two year old has shingles, does this mean his immune system is weak!?
My two year old has just been diagnosed by ther doctor with shingles, although he has never had visible chicken pox or the vaccination!.

I am worried, as after researching on the internet, it says it is very rare for a two year old to get the disease, and if it happens, could be sign of a weak immune system or something more serious!.

I am really, really worried and don't know what to do!. Help, i'm going nuts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree it is a bit unusual for a 2 year old to get shingles instead of chicken pox!. However, it will still clear up and the child will have life time immunity most likely!. Very little chance of any lasting negative impact on the child!.

I would not agree that the immune system is weak because most kids that are not vaccinated will eventually get pox virus, in your case the disease has manifested itself in the form of shingles instead of pox lesions!.

Relax, see the Doc it will be over soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
