When you have an illness does it help you to read as much as you can about it?!

Question: When you have an illness does it help you to read as much as you can about it!?
Answers:
If the illness is confirmed through medical tests and doctors then I would want to become informed as to what I could do to help my situation!. That would usually require reading up details that I would normally not venture into reading!. However, I would not wish to be obsessive about reading every detail to the point I would let my imagination go wild which would happen to most people if they researched too much!. That might lead to one actually start feeling some of those symptoms where otherwise they wouldn't!. Also, not everyone with a specific disease or illness would actually fall under the exact specifics of the disease one was reading about!. Everyone reacts differently to diseases and illnesses!. One time, I was diagnosed with an illness!. I read up on everything and then my symptoms increased and seemed to further match the symptoms I was researching!. Further medical testing revealed I didn't have the illness after-all and then all of a sudden my symptoms just disappeared!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had to have a major operation in April and I found that it helped me understand the operation and what I was in for with the recuperation!. I read everything I could find about my problem and the operation and the recuperation time!. Some of the information was a bit scary but overall I think I was more prepared by knowing everything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It would depend on your personality!. I worry about what I DON'T know!. Other worry once they do know
You may not want to learn the technical stuff but there could be a support group you could join, maybe a chat room or you could read up on the stories of others who have your illness!. You would be able to get the since of what can come up without the full detailsWww@Answer-Health@Com
