My husband has what they call and AICD, which is both a pacemaker (to make sure the heart rythem doesn't go too slow and also a defibrilator to shock his heart if it starts going too fast/irregular!. The unit is all in one!. Usually they place these small devices on your non-dominate side, so if you are right handed they would put it on the left side!. Unfortunately, they couldn't put my husbands on the left side but he has had no problems because of it!. Once the area has healed you don't normally feel it!. You might feel it if you were say in bed and you were laying in a position that put pressure on it, but otherwise no!. Incision are always sore for a bit whatever surgery you have, but since the incision is not very deep you should heal up fairly fast and they can certainly keep you comfortable with medication as needed!.

The best advise I have for afterward is to make sure you don't go lifting anything or over do that area while it is healing so it can settle into the position it should be in!. I don't know the cost, our insurance paid for it and I don't think I have the statement any more!.

And yes after you are completely recovered you can lift and all just like you use to!. As for exercising sure, but I'm not so sure about using heavy weight if that was you mean!. You don't want to go pulling the wires out!. I would certainly ask your doctor about that!.!.!.besides doing the work they are there to inform you!.!.!.there are no stupid questions when it comes to your well being!. Anyway, my husband does everything he use to!.
Hope that helps!. All the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
