Question: Does an ekg show EVERYTHING that is/could be wrong with your heart!?
Answers:
No!. EKG is just the recording of the electrical activity of the heart!. It shows abnormalities as a result of changes in electrical activity due to heart disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. It may show that your having an irregular heartbeat but isnt going to show why its beating irregularly!.

If they suspect something wrong, they will do an EKG!. Many times after that you will do a Holter Monitor-which monitors your heart for an extended period of time-usually 24 or 48 hrs!.

Also you would probably get an ultrasound of your heart!. Or even a TEE(trans-esophageal echo cardiogram) procedure!.

Your cardiologist would be able to tell you which tests they feel you need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, not by anymeans!.!.!.!.!. an EKG, can give them a small amount of insight to see if somethings going on, if they are concerned something is going on with your heart, they will probably do an echocardiagram, *it looks like an ultrasound machine they use on pregnant women, to look at your heart, they can look at the blood flow through the different chambers etc*, they may decide they want to do a bubble study echo * to push clear bubbles up to your heart to see how your blood is pumping, they may eventually even do a TEEG Tephoesphagel echo!.(my spelling I'm sure is way off) * basically where they stick something down your throat, to look at your heart that way* THey could also do a stress test to see if theres any abnormalties there!.!.!.!.!. Bottom line is there are many many ways to find out whats going on with your heart, and EKG is just the beginning of it and also a very useful tool!.!.!. doesn't give us all the answers!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, not at all!. You can have cholesterol building up in the arteries and that won't show!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
