Medical question - Kidney failure?!

Question: Medical question - Kidney failure!?
I have a very large kidney stone which occupies much of my kidney!. Early tests show no function in the kidney and I have been told that it has probably failed completely and if so will be removed!. I have suffered with pain for some time but also have a few other symptoms which I wonder may be related, I seem to find it very hard to lose weight even on a diet, I constantly feel worn out and off colour although nothing I can put my finger on!. Is this related or not really!.
ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Provided that the other kidney is functioning normally, it will do the job of filtering the blood adequately!. Weight gain or loss would not be related to your kidney stone!. Feeling worn out could be so many things unrelated to this, it would be wise to keep track of any other symptoms or possible other causes rather than assuming it is related to this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The pain you have experienced is likely to be colickly pain which i have read is very painful!. If the flow of bilirubin is blocked that can result in the colour change!. If the bilirubin flow is interrupted due to the kidney stone then yes you will have problems with weight, however bilirubin is needed to emulsify fat and therefore for its abosorption so i would have assumed that have blocked bilirubin would cause weight loss and not gain!.
I think the best person to ask this question to is your Dr who can give you the correct answer and help you with all the other issues you have raised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know about the weight loss!. The feeling of being worn out and off color would seem to be the result of your body not having the means to filter and excrete toxins via your urine!. It may be congesting your system by putting all of the filtration on one kidney!. However, many people live completely fine with one kidney so you have a real conundrum here!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is unlikely that your knackered kidney would cause these problems, it's just your general state of health!.

Your body can function quite normally with one kidney, so if the tests show that it HAS failed, don't hesitate to have it removed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
