Medical insight, please?!

Question: Medical insight, please!?
First off, let me say that I am doing this in research for a book I am writing!. Here is my question!. What kinds, if any, of medical conditions would be potentially fatal, but have may not start showing symptoms until later in life (say mid 40's)!. Also, could it be passed on to this person's children!? I realize this may sound really strange, but I know pretty much nothing about diseases or medical conditions and I'd like to find something that I can do more research on!. What I'd like to get at is a middle age woman dying in her 40's or 50's and her daughter dying of that disease too, soon after!. Is anyone familiar with anything that would cause these types of scenarios, so that I can do further reseach on that specific condition!? I'm open to any ideas!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Huntington's Chorea is a good candidate!. It is autosomal dominant so chidren of an afflicted individual have a 50% chance of inheriting the disease!. It is not sex-linked, so females have an equal chance of getting it!. And it starts to show itself in middle life!. A mother in her late 50's who had an early child who is now in her 30's could both be expressing the disease!. It is assymptomatic until uncontrollable movements start to occur!. And there is no cure!. It progresses, fatally, to increasingly uncontrollable movements and then to dementia!. In the old days, death occurred due to starvation as the patien could not coordinate the movement of fork or spoon to mouth!. Therefore, they could not eat or drink except with assistance!. I have provided a link below!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

One that alot of research has been done on in the last several years is Antiphospholipid syndrome!.This potentially fatal disease can strike at any age, but I know several who have it themselves and who's children also have it!. I have it and one of my greatest fears is of one of my children having it!. It is autoimmune!. Considered rare, but it is much more common than many doctors realize!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
