Question: Why after thyroid cancer aren't I on any medication except high does of calcium!?
After I had my thyroid removed May 20th from cancer, the doctor hasn't mentioned any kind of medication to take for the rest of my life!. He just tells me to take 15,000 mgs of calcium a day!. I heard you can't live without a thyroid unless you take medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Was your entire thyroid removed!? Has your doctoer ordered any lab tests!? If your entire thyroid was removed you should certainly be on medication!. The fact that you are taking calcium suggests that your parathyroid was removed!. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor and voice your concerns and questions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you being treated by a surgeon or an oncologist!? You need to ask the medical team if no radioactive isotope is warranted!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
