if you can't get a prescription transfered to where you are, buy novolin R, but take it AT LEAST 30 MINUTES before each meal, NOT like your novolog!.
Remember, this is NOT basal insulin, and if you normally take that, you'll have to either get a prescription from a local medical center, or take your chances with NPH!.

Novolin is Regular insulin, which is fast-acting, but Novolog is one of the newer insulins that acts the fastest!. If you're used to Novolog, you're going to need to watch your simple sugars on Novolin!.!.!.it doesn't cover them as quickly!. If you eat something sugary or starchy, make sure it has some fat in it to slow down the absorption or you'll spike too high!. Novolin also takes longer to start kicking in!.!.!.about 1/2 hour before it starts to take action, so you might want to take it before a meal if you're used to taking Novolog right afterwards!. Shouldn't be a need to adjust the dosage at all, use your usual insulin-to-carb ratios and check your BG's more frequently!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
