I have had a red, hard nodule on the outside of my lower right eyelid for 2 mont!

Question: I have had a red, hard nodule on the outside of my lower right eyelid for 2 months!!?
Originally I thought this was a stye - but now am wondering what else it could be!?

I have tried every stye remedy known to man - warm compresses, rubbing a gold ring on the stye, antibiotic ointment, etc!. with no results!.

The nodule has been there for about 2 months now!. It appears larger & more red at times!. Other times it seems to shrink!. No specific reason that I can pinpoint in the changes!.

The nodule feels hard and I have not had any drainage!.

What could this be if its not a stye!?

I'll be going to the Dr!.'s office next week - but am curious if anyone has any thoughts on this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I've had this same problem before!.
It may or may not be a stye or a blocked tear duct!.
I tried all the same home remedies you did!.
I finally went to an optometrist!.
He Rx'd an antibiotic (it was definitely infected) and a special ointment just for eyelids!.
I rubbed the ointment on the outside and inside of my eyelid (yes, it was uncomfortable) twice a day for a week!.
I would wake up with a gooky film over my eye everyday, but it got better and better!.
It finally went away and I've never had a problem since!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My friend had this recently!. It's probably a cyst!. It's nothing super serious but go to the doctor!

It is a stye! A stye is occurs when bacteria has build up into your eye!. The best way to get rid of it is:

*Never touch your face and eyes when your hands are dirty
- dirt and bacteria are to pimples as dirt and bacteria are to styes
*At this point Do Not Use tap water to clean you eyes!. Tap water is not sterile ( can contain microscopic bacteria) and it could delay or worsen the healing process when you are trying to get rid of the stye!.
* Use eye wash to clean your eye!. It can be found at any drug store located on the eye and ear aisle!.

* After you have wash your eye!. You want to use a sensitive astringent called witch hazel!. Witch hazel is a natural and delicate astringent!. It will not burn your eye!. Witch hazel is delicate enough not to burn your eye but strong enough absorb out the bacteria and shrink your stye!.You would want to put some on a cotton ball or cotton pad and just let is lay on your eye for a minimum of 5 minutes!. You can do longer if you like!. And repeat this at least twice a day!.

*Your stye should be gone in a couple of days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
