Answers:
I'm not a doctor!. What I do know is that as an embryo, at around 12 days after conception we undergo NEURALATION !.!.the formation of the neural tube with the brain and the spinal chord!. This process is dependent on a B vitamin, folic acid and some women have a poor metabolism of Folic Acid and need a supplement!.!.!.!.0!.4 mg daily for the average woman and 5 mg daily for those with a history of spina bifida in the family!. This needs to be taken all the time if you are sexually active as the 12 day mark is way before you'd even know you had a missed period!. In the USA/canada they supplement cereals with the 0!.4mg dose so that all the women get it !. You'd probably require the 5mg dose!. From what I understand your spinabifida was cured by the succesful closing of the neural tube, but its likely you have the folic acid metabolism problem and would need the 5mg daily dose to avoid spinabifida in your children!.
So now I think its time to talk to a doctor to allay your fears!. I think what I've said is pretty much true but best to confirm with a proper doctor and not some internet quacl like me:)Www@Answer-Health@Com
