Question: How long does it take for folliculitis to go away!?
My doctor has me on meds for a week I just want to know how long it takes to go away and if it scars!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

if it's not very severe, antibiotics seem to get rid of it quickly, in a week or two!. some people can have it for years though!.
when i first went to the doctor, they gave me keflex antibiotics for about 15 days and a cream called bactroban, and it went away completely within two weeks with no scarring!.
i have extremely sensitive skin that is very susceptible to infection though because i also have eczema, so after a few weeks the folliculitis kept coming back and i now have to keep re-taking antibiotics long term!. i've had it on and off for about 2 years now!.
you can also use PHisohex, which can be found at any chemist, to wash the infected area!.
