Dry, irritated face. Is it my cleanser?!

Question: Dry, irritated face!. Is it my cleanser!?
A couple of days ago I started using neutrogena extra-gentle cleanser!. It was working great! My light case of acne was almost gone and my skin tone was very even!. Before I began using this cleanser I had some small irritated areas around my mouth!. These areas were not red, but it felt like my skin was burned there!. I'm guessing the irritation was caused by me forgetting to rinse off the toothpaste around my mouth after brushing my teeth!.

Anyways, since the cleanser claimed to be very gentle and add back moisture to the skin I thought that it would help heal the irritation around my mouth!.

For a couple of days the irritation didn't change, but one day in the late afternoon I noticed that there was a larger area around my mouth that felt itchy and dry!. That night I put aloe vera around a lot of my mouth and the next morning I woke up with skin that was even more irritated and dry than before!.

Do you think that my new cleanser caused my skin to freak!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

you could be using too much and it is drying out your skin!. try not using it for a day or two and see if it helps, if it happens everytime you use it consistently then you might want to switch brandsWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have never had problems with my skin and this is what I do!.!.!.I take my showers at night only!.!.!.I wash my face only at night and after that I put on some kind of face cream!.!.!.Im the morning if my face feels dry I'll put on some more cream!.!.!.but usually in the morning I don;t need it!.!.!.!.I but on my make up and the natural oils mostrize my skinWww@Answer-Health@Com

haha well drooling is probably why youre having the problem around your mouth!.

try getting dramatically different moisturizing GEL (the yellow one) from clinique!.

its very lightweight and will help with the dryness and itchiness!.

make sure you get the gel for oily skin, not the lotion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like it could have been a reaction to the cleanser!. Mine will do that too with certain cleansers!. My Derm!. said i might not have been rinsing the soap off enough!. So that could be a problem!. You should try putting some vasaline on it or go see a dermatologist if it gets any worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Obviously I don't know for sure, but it sounds like whatever you have was irritated by the new product, not caused by it!. You may want to check with your derm to see what it is and how to treat it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it could be the cleanser but maybe no!
maybe you have ecema!
get some hydrocortison
max relief and try that out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i use one from dove it works great!

and this is after going though a couple and dumping them because of the same problemWww@Answer-Health@Com

omg that happened to me with that same cleanser!
i say you dont worry, and just buy a new one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you might be allergic to something in your cleanser!. i'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide which is a main ingredient in alot of acne clearing products!. but i finally realized that to get rid of your acne, i needed to wash my face multiple times a day!. after washing my face, i needed to put moisturizer on it in order to not let it dry up!. if it dries up, it might get irritated!.
after using your cleanser, try putting some moisturizer on it (i use neutrogena) because your skin lacks the natural oils due to the washings!. you need to put moisture back on your face or else your skin will look for excess oils which can cause breakouts and acne!.
if this doesn't work, then you should switch your cleanser or consult a dermatologist!. goodluck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes it was your cleanser because u got rinse ur toothpast off because it stays there and toothpaste on the skin starts to burn ( i know this because toothpaste is used to get rid of pimples- i know i have tried it)
Basically start over brush you teeth and rinse off all toothpaste then put ur cleanser and it should be fine- drooling should not be a concern because it does not affect u drooling is just a way ur body tells u that u have parasites or worms are in your stomach (don't panic just get this liquid they sell at the corner stores or drug store to get rid of parasites and worms) Anyway it's the toothpaste because the cleanser is a cleaner but a gentle one and toothpaste is a cleaner as well but its not gentle at all it burns the skin so just be careful but definitely see a dermatologist before taking anything riskyWww@Answer-Health@Com

It is defenitely your cleanser!. Most facial your products are irritating to the skin, even if the package says it won't be!. What makes it worse is that your face was irritated to begin with, so that's why your dryness worsened!. What you should do is put a little bit of cortisone cream on the irritated area at night!. Aloe Vera is more for your body than the sensitive skin on your face!. Also, make sure you are moisturizing during the day with a gentle moiturizer as well, and make sure you apply sun screen!. If it worsens or doen't get better, go see your dermatologist!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think like 2 or 3 years ago i was using clearsil or something and a part of my skin around my jaw got really dry and gross and yes it was the clearasil that i was using so im thinking it probably is so stop using it i have used everything, clean and clear, proactive, EVERYTHING! pills! antibiotics! everything! and i bought a bar of soap 2 dlls you cna find one at wal mart or stater bros they also have them and you use warm water and a cloth and you dab your face gently and then when its all dabbed start going in circles really soft and youll see improvement not TOTALLY CLEAR but its way better than the 100s of dollars ive spent on other thingsWww@Answer-Health@Com
