I was on my way to work one morning and as I pulled into the parking lot, I got the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life!. It hurt below my bottom left rib so bad that I wanted to scream!. My dad works there too, so I made him drive me to the hospital while I laid in the back of his van curled up in the fetal position just moaning the whole time!.
I got to the ER and luckily, my friend's mom was working there that day (nurse) and she took me back and gave me some pain meds!. She told me that she has had 3 kids and kidney stones and when it comes to pain, she'd rather have a kid any day!
I would have rather someone stab me and move the knife around it hurt so bad!
They wanted me to go into a hyperbaric (water) chamber and send ultrasonic waves through my body to break up the kidney stone!. At the time, I didn't have insurance, so I declined the chamber (up to $10,000 cost) and just took some pain medication and let it break up on its own!. They make you strain your pee so that when you pass the stone, they can test it and what it was made of!. Mine luckily broke up into very fine pieces and I didn't even know when I passed it!.
They told me not to drink too much pop or milk because those two things can build up in your kidneys and cause another stone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
