Does anyone have any suggestions for itchy eyes?!

Question: Does anyone have any suggestions for itchy eyes!?
I have had a yorkie for almost three years now, and this summer she started shedding!. When she started shedding, I started having major problems with my eyes!. At the end of May, I woke up one morning and thought that I had pink eye!. After three days, it went away - but since then my eyes have been very, very itchy!. I think it might be my dog, but then again I've never had this problem before and I've had her for a long time now!. I've been taking zyrtec which helps me during the day, but at night when I'm at home the problem is back!. It's extremely frustrating, and I'm constantly having to take medicine and use eye drops to try to keep it under control!. Sometimes that doesn't even work!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Jess, allergies take time and repeated exposure to show symptoms so it could be your dog!. Allergies are chronic and don't go away!. Two things you can do is remove the cause or treat the symptoms!. Well, I would think you don't want to get rid of your dog sooooooo, you have to treat the symptoms!.

Take Zyrtec every day, replace your AC filter with a pleated one, use anti-allergy eye drops (Opcon-A over the counter) , use wash cloths soaked in ice water to cover your eyes; have your dog professinally groomed once in a while and try not to rub your eyesWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have no idea if this works, but try Visine!? I think it works on itchy, dry eyes!.!.!. Good luck!.

If nothing helps, go to the doctor!? Glad you didn't have pink eye! That sickness is terrible!. =(Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is proably your dog!. you can develope new allergies over time!.

try a 24-hour antihistamine medicine!. it might work better than zyrtec!.

there is also new allergy treatment that involves shots that actually gets rid of your allergies!. allergies are really jsut your body responding to something that won't actually hurt it!. for example, an allergy to peanuts!.!.!.!.!.the peanuts won't kill you, your REACTION will!. so basically when you have an allergic reaction you are responding to something that won't hurt you, so it's almost like your "killing" yourself!. shots can change how you react!.

a good eye drop is naphcon A!. i found it works extremely well for my allergies!.

as for the dog, if there's warm weather, try keepnig it outside all the time!. it will reduce your allergies significantly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
