Didnt your doctor explain this to you!?

A peak flow meter is used to measure how air flows from your lungs in one "fast blast!." In other words, the Meter measures your ability to push air out of your lungs!. This assesses the patency of your airways!. If you have spasm or inflammation your peak flow values will be reduced!.

Your predicted value is based on your age and height!.

If you have exercise induced bronchospasm (EIB) !.!.!. I would do a peak flow for baseline prior to exercise !.!.!. and when your are finished exercising !.!.!. rest for several minutes and repeat the test !.!.!. this will let you know if you have experienced EIB !.!.!. your post results should be reduced !.!.!. generally I would say about a 20% drop in your previous value !.!.!.

For example !.!.!. we will say your initial peak flow is 500 !.!.!. then if you have a 20% reduction after exercise you would have a peak flow of 400 !.!.!. or less depending on the effects of your EIB !.!.!.

Did your physician say to take an inhaler prior to exercise!? Generally 30 to 45 minutes before exercise to abate your symptoms!?

If you have any questions !.!.!. please feel free to email me !.!.!.

I wish you the best!Www@Answer-Health@Com

A peak flow meter shows how much air is passing through your lungs!.

I can't tell you what the outcome will be, it depends on your height and weight and gender!.

Once you become "acquainted" with it, you will have a red zone, a yellow zone, and a green zone!. The red zone means you need to go to the ER, the yellow zone means you need to take your rescue medications, and the green zone means your asthma is well controled!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
