I can't stand looking at food or even eating anymore!?!

Question: I can't stand looking at food or even eating anymore!!?
Ever since being diagnosed with diabetes and I switched to an extremely low carb diet, I just can't stand food anymore! I try to vary the protien and eat lots of veggies and salads!. I treat myself with sugar free jello or pudding or an atkins bar!. But mostly I'd just rather not eat anything! If this is the "cure" everyone talks about I will simply go mad!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went through the same thing when I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of years ago!. I nearly lost my appetite completely and I'd get nauseous trying to finish something like a bowl of corn flakes! My taste for foods seemed to just vanish and I didn't enjoy anything for a while, even my favorite foods (which I could no longer eat anyway)!.!.!. It lasted a little over six months in my case and then everything went back to normal!. It wasn't fun, but it did eventually get better, so hang in there and good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go get either Atkins or South Beach LIving recipe books!. Use phase 2 of either food plan!.

I don't get bored and have been on SBL for about 11 years now!.

Secret is to plan in a "cheat treat" once a week or every other week!. a very small serving of something good and I don't mean sugar free jellow or atkins bar or something nasty like that!. I mean real ice cream or chocolate cake or something really good!.

If it is planned into the menu for the day, it works well!.

It is not the "cure", but it can keep glucose numbers down!. Don't worry about them going up once a week for the treat!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Allow yourself to have a cheat day where you eat w/e u want even if it means like ice cream, etc!., that way you won't be so craved and u will feel some relief then your body will eventually adapt to healthy foods again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm envious!.!.!.I have cravings all the time! Are you on insulin!? If so, there's no need to restrict your carbs so much!. Live a little! Have the Frappucino, but check the carbs and give yourself the right amount of insulin to go with it!. The extreme Atkins diet is terrible for our organs, especially the heart, which is already compromised by diabetes!. Better to take the South Beach approach, or a moderate-carb version of the ADA diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
