Why don't dogs get poison ivy or poison oak?!

Question: Why don't dogs get poison ivy or poison oak!?
Answers:
The toxic principle in poison oak and poison ivy is urushiol!. This toxin is an oil resin found in the plant sap!. Animals are quite resistant to the effects of urushiol but can transmit the toxin to a person!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

humans have an allergic reaction to the oil in the leaves from poison ivy!. And dogs actually can get poison ivy if they are allergic to this oil!. My dog used to get it, and so do i!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think their fur helps to protect their skin from the irritants!.!.!. plus i think their skin isn't nearly as sensitive to rashes as human skin is!.!.!. i'm just making a guess though that's what i'd imagine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know!. I wish I had their ability to ward off the stuff!. Could be the fur protects them, or that they just aren't allergic to them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
