I had the same thing a few years ago and went to my college's clinic!. They told me to just put hot compresses on it and it should go away on its own!. Well, it didn't!. The blood somehow clotted underneath my skin and almost nothing would come out when I tried to pop it, but the inflammation was spreading to my whole thigh and it became extremely painful!. Eventually I went to a doctor who had to not just pop it but cut it open with a scalpel and drain it!. I was left with a hole in my flesh about an inch deep and a half inch in diameter, which the doctor literally stuffed with gauze!. I had to return to the doctor a few times to have him take the dressings out and re-stuff it!. Now I have a huge scar!.
Since then I've had a few smaller ones over the years, and as soon as it appears I wash my hands with antibacterial soap, disinfect the area with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, and try to drain out as much as I can by popping it!. Then I apply drawing salve, which you dont need an Rx for but it may be behind the pharmacist's counter!. The drawing salve helps to draw all the pus to the surface!. I put it on before bed and cover the area with a big band-aid!. In the morning I wash the area, try to drain it some more, re-disinfect, put on some neosporin, and cover with a band-aid all day!. I do this until it goes away, which is only a few days!. This process has helped me avoid the nightmare that happened the first time!.
The pills your doc gave you are probably antibiotics, which is a good thing because that should help fight the infection and prevent it from getting into your bloodstream!. If it doesn't get better within a few days or if you see the area around it getting redder, go back to your doc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could pop on its own or your body could absorb the fluid, either way he is right, do not pop it or squeeze it, you can spread the infection!. you could apply warm moist compresses to it, just run a washcloth under really warm water, moderately hot, wring out the cloth and lay it on the boil several times a day, it will help your body either absorb the contents of it or cause it to come to a head and burst on its own!. it will also help the pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just pop it yourself!. It is filling and needs to empty!. If he told you not to do anything to it then listen to him!. If you don't want to pop it then put a bandaid over it so you won't keep seeing it!. I have to pop stuff, I can't stand it if it's got stuff in it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No it won't pop by itself!. It will eventually go away in like 2-3 days, and it will get hard!. But sooner or later I think you have to pop it, bc if you dont it just will keep on coming back!. Just ask the doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

It might just pop on its own!. Most pimples/boil cause by an infection will just build up with pressure until it just pops!. However, if it has not popped by the time of your next doctor visit the doctor will probably pop it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
