Question: Have any of you guys had the shots in your head for alopecia!? (For the hair to grow back!.!.)!?
Well when you get alopecia they first test you for all these different diseases and stuff, like being anemic or!.!. i think bipolar too!. If you are negative for those they give you like a cream to put on your scalp where it's balding!.!. then if that fails they give you this liquidy stuff to rub on your head!.!. THEN if that fails they give you shots in your scalp!.!. it sounds terrible!.!. how bad will it hurt!? I mean they probably do something before hand so you just feel like numb and dont feel much, but for those of you who have had it, did it feel just like beestings or what!? I'm getting that in July - after having alopecia for at least 2 years (They aren't sure why I even have it, im not stressed and I was negative for all the tests, the creams and stuff didn't work at all)
So my question is - How bad did it hurt!? because i'm really nervous about it and i'm only 14!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I assume you are talking about Alopecia Areata:
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Alopecia_ar!.!.!.
(FYI, "alopecia" on its own simply means hair loss, so for example, male-pattern baldness is also called alopecia!.)
I have a close friend who was diagnosed with AA about a year-and-half ago!. She's been through all the treatments: steroid lotions (what you called "liquid stuff to rub on your head"), scalp injections, and even something called DPCP, which is a chemical irritation treatment!.
Anyway, according to her, the shots didn't bother her much -- more like mosquito bites than bee stings!. Remember, doctors use very fine needles for scalp injections (finer than the ones you received your immunization shots with)!.
So you'll be fine!.
Hang in there!Www@Answer-Health@Com
