It is due to deficiency of minerals in the body and you may have noticed that it is only when you are thinking and stressed that you do it!. it also accompanies with walking as you are thinking!. Try different types of fruits and raw vegetables and avoid lot of cheese and meat!. not that you stop using them but take more fruits and vegetables it will help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I knew a girl who had the same problem!.

She went to the doctor and asked for advice!. They told her that she should wear nail-polish (the see-through kind) so that it would prevent her from eating her nails and skin around because the polish made it taste bad!.!

If polish does not work then you could also try chewing gum for a while, and every time you get that urge you can just chew something else (that has a nice taste for a change)!.!.

Remember eating your own skin is not very good for you and could cause infections and bruises in/on your skin!.

Just tell yourself that you are not going to do it, tell yourself that it is a bad habit and that it is not very nice! I know you can stop doing it if you just make up your mind on it and decide that you are not!.! =D xxxWww@Answer-Health@Com

My husband eats, well spits out the skin around his finger nails!. I think it is very unsanitary and it could possibly be very bad for you!. Its probably more of a habit then you really enjoying it, so try chewing gum non stop for a couple weeks so your getting that urge to chew and its more satisfying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

skin is natural barrier that prevent from bacterias, fungus and other stuff to get in and cause infections, so by eating your skin you're predisposing to infections!.-Www@Answer-Health@Com
