Is Atopic eczema and contact dermatitis the same thing?!

Question: Is Atopic eczema and contact dermatitis the same thing!?
My mum passed away 5 years ago, but the problem is, I've no idea what sort of eczema she had!. Because at the moment, i'm having some slightly itchiness on my face and legs!. It's not red or sore, but it's annoying, i moisturize myself everyday after a shower throughly to stop my skin from drying out!. Dad doesn't have eczema, so, My question is;

Are both atopic eczema and contact dermatitis genetic!?

Is there ANY other way to avoid having eczema!?

I think only my mum has it in my family, my brothers and sisters haven't got it!. Is there still a chance i'll have it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Although eczema does tend to run in families, it is not so that all in that family will have it!. First you need proper diagnosis with a skin specialist, you'll need a referal by your GP!. For instance I thought I had that on my elbows and feet, but I saw a specialist and she said I have 'plano litchens' a different type of skin problem, mine is caused by too many white blood cells, re-making the upper dermis (skin) over and over again, it's quite complicated isn't it!.

If you have eczema, a dermotological ointment is best, like Betnovate or Dermovate, these are well know by your GP!. I think there is a link to Dermatitis, Now dermatitis is caused by the natural oil barriers our skin produces, being either hardly enough there to protect us or by them being washed away by just washing with soap, this leaves our skin (which is an organ, by the way) open to ingress of nasty bacteria etc, thats why it flares up and in severe cases, I've seen in factory workers, it can ooze puss!. Now we can't-not wash, so the best thing is to wash in the usual way, then rince off your skin well with hot water in the shower (obviously not too hot) I would avoid moisturisers, as they only increase problems!.

The betnovate with stop itching straight away (get ointment rather than cream type)

Eczma is strongly linked too stress and is often triggered by stress, but is hard to get rid of once there, so my advice is to try and not get stressed out!.!.!.!.!.mmm!.!.!.it's easier said than done! Good luck with your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dermatitis means inflammation of the skin!. Contact dermatitis is a reaction to an irritant that your skin comes into contact with!. It can be treated usually with water and an anti histamine!.

Eczema is a skin condition that can be associated with hormone changes!.

If your mom had it there is a small chance you could get it!. But if you do it is treatable!. Your doctor can give you an atopical (on the skin) steroid cream that will treat the symptoms!.

If it is hormone related it will end after puberty, pregnancy or menopause etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

different!. atopic eczema is a temp thing so it basically goes away with a light dose of cortisone cream!.!.!.!.!.!.dont worry!. although your mum passed away a few years ago if you had something to worry about it would of come out by now!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello there!. Eczema is a dermatitis!. There are many types and even doctors often can't differentiate between them!. They etiology of eczema is not known but most scientists believe that genetics play a role!.

Long, hot and "thourough" showers or baths DRY OUT the skin, paradoxically!. Take your showers warm and quick; moisturize right away to lock in moisture!.
From my own experience with eczema I can recommend the herbal cream from Champori!.com: it is steroid-free and works fast!. Try it: it is availble online from a company in Colorado and comes with money back guarantee, so if doesn't work - it's free!.
