Question: If I eat tomatos grown in raw sewage water will I get sick!.!?
Many years ago Farmers in this country were banded from using DDT and other pestisides for health reasons!. Today we import food products that are raised with these pestisides that are applyed with no guide lines as those who are doing it cannot read the labels!. Townships in these areas dump their raw sewage in the waterways and then the farmres pump this tanted water onto their crops and the bonus is they don't have to fertilize as it is in the water!. So my question is why do we feel that by stamping the words imported on this stuff makes it fit to eat!. Is this some more of the so called NAFTA deal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't eat imported food!. It's stupid!. A little extra searching and you can find fruit with the label "product of usa"!.

Tomatoes will often grow on their own, near cess pools and septic tanks!. This is due to flushed seeds (from you know where) and the abundance of water, more than the feces!.

The tomatoes I spoke of in #3 are safe to eat, but ones who are having sewage dumped onto them are obviously not safe to eat!.

In China, they probably fertilize with lead!.

It would depend on what the sewage contained!. If it was human waste then no it would not harm you so long as you wash your food thoroughly before consuming it as the plant does not take the harmful parts of the waste into itself, they just sit on the outside!.
However, if we're talking industrial waste then it could harm you if the plants take the chemical into them!. Though it's unlikely that such tainted plants would find their way into the US on the grounds that the plants would be sickly and no US company would buy them!.
You may or may not know this but in the US it is common to grow crops using human or animal waste!. Many organic foods are grown this way!. Pig manurer is a favorite!. Bird excrement is also used because of its phosphate content!. If I were you I'd not complain too loudly as banning plants grown in waste would hurt a lot of US farmers, too!.
