About outpatient mastectomies?!

Question: About outpatient mastectomies!?
I have read a lot about outpatient mastectomies and have yet to know of a doctor who does not have his or her patient best health at heart!. The doctors are the ones who suffer the most lawsuits, while the insurance companies dictate the doctors actions!. Why don't more people target the insurance companies, for complications due to early discharge!? I do not want a mass of lawsuits for insurance companies, but I do want proper care for all patients!. It seems the only thing the insurance company looks at is the bottom line!. So I guess my question is, why don't people look at the real problem, which in my opinion is the insurance company, not the doctors!? The doctors go to school for many years to provide proper care for patients, but the insurance companies don't!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You hit the nail on the head! Insurance companies have no interest in the welfare of the patient!. It's money, money, money and the insurance companies are pushing patients out the door!. Nothing is textbook!. Surgery does not always go as expected, and in the real world patients are not all healthy 20 year olds!. Each case should be treated individually!. Sometimes patients do require an extended stay for outpatient-type surgery!. I work in surgical services as a scrub tech!. I've been watching the surgeons battle these issues for years!. Not only that, you would be amazed at the low reimbursements surgeons receive from insurance companies for some of their services!. They are not making out as well as you might think!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
