There are many things that can cause blood in the urine (also called hematuria)!.
I assume you are on antibiotics for a urinary tract infection, which is a very common cause of blood in the urine!. As you have found, the blood settles as you are treated!.
Other common causes include:
After surgery to the bladder/kidney, or after catheterisation (passing a tube into the bladder to drain the urine into a bag)
Kidney stones
In women, blood from periods is often mistaken for blood in the urine!.
Cancer of the kidney/bladder (Yours is clearly linked to infection, and has now stopped - you don't need to worry about this)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually kidney stones; but any object from the kidneys down to the ureters can cause this!. Kidney/bladder/urinary tract infections can lead to blood in urine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Symptoms of an UTI are: blood in urine, painful urination, need to go to the bathroom more often (although nothing may come out)
