Answers:
okay, so i noticed that someones posted a whole lot about it from wikipedia, ill sum it up for you!.!.!.

Firstly your body is made of cells!.
These cells need a regular tempreture to work properly!.
Now, normaly when you eat ice-cream its fine because the cold tempreture that ingoes through your mouth is rapidly heated up again!.
however, in eating ice-cream very fast it dis-allows the tempreture to return to normal!.

Now to sum up why it hurts!.!.!.
Basicaly the ice-cream isn't strong enough to destroy cells at a rapid rate, so it just imobilizes them or slows them down, and that causes the pain, sort of like if you put your hand in a stream and then it suddenly froze with your hand in it, it would be painful struggling to get your hand free

if you KEEP on eating ice-cream or cold things then you can cause serious damage , this is because you are not allowing the cells to work at optimum tempreture in the most vital part of your body (head)

No death can not be an option in healthy people (with brain freeze)

Cause and Frequency
A report was submitted to the British Medical Journal on brain freeze; it focused on the effect of speed of consumption of ice cream on causing brain freeze!. It has been studied as an example of referred pain,[1] an unpleasant sensation localized to an area separate from the site of the painful stimulation!.

It has been estimated that "30% of the population" experiences brain freeze from ice cream!.[2] Some studies suggest that brain freeze is more common in people who experience migraines!. Raskin and Knittle found this to be the case, with brain freeze occurring in 93% of migraine sufferers and in only 31% of controls!. However, other studies found that it is more common in people without migraines!.[citation needed] These inconsistencies may be due to differences in subject selection: the subjects of the first study were drawn from a hospital population, whereas the controls in the second were student volunteers, making the tests inconclusive!.[citation needed]

Researchers believe that an ice-cream headache is caused when the roof of the mouth is exposed to very cold foods or beverages and the brain thinks that the body is freezing!. All cures are variations of warming up the roof of the mouth!.

Cures
Though brain freeze normally persists for less than a minute, the pain can be intense!. A number of home remedies are purported to relieve the pain!.

Most remedies involve heating the roof of the mouth!. These techniques include holding or rubbing the tongue against the roof of the mouth[3], placing the thumb or fingers against the roof of the mouth, sipping warm water, and placing the hands over the mouth while rapidly inhaling and exhaling!.

Other reported relief techniques are coughing and moving the head from side to side!. Some report that quickly bending over with your head below your waistline, and holding that position for about three seconds, provides a remedy!. Scientifically this could work because the warm blood from the rest of your body then rushes to your head and warms and expands your vessels!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually when you think you know something and you don't your brain will freeze during a test!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
