I'm having heart palpitations?!

Question: I'm having heart palpitations!?
i'm only 18 and lately i've been having them, they only last about one to two seconds long but it deffinatly doesn't feel normal!.

i noticed that ever since i started exersizing i've been having them!. it's really scary, i have a doctor appointment on thursday but i'm just wondering if anyone knew what it could be!.

basically my heart pumps faster and harder for about two seconds and than stops!. this has been happening for about two days now since i started working out!. i went from basically being a couch potatoe, to riding my bike and jumping on my trampoline for about an hour and a half a day to lose wieght!. do you think that could have anything to do with it!? i really don't think so though, i don't feel like i'm exersizing that much to actually put strain on my heart!.

i also noticed that i only get them when i am sitting down or laying down!. i've never had one standing up!.

someone help give me any help, i'm really scaredWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Contact your doctor but your description is very typical of premature heart beats which are no cause for concern!. These often feel like an extra strong heart beat or a 'gush' in the chest!. The fact that you've only noticed them when still indicates that these are simply premature beats as these are commonly not noticeable when active!.

Don't be frightened as palpitations are very rarely relating to a significant problem, but further investigation including echo, ECG and holter monitoring is indicated to rule any significant problems out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

try drinking more water
eating bananas, potatoes and also high iron foods like meats, cerels and oatmeal
sometimes we have these from not getting the right foods in our bodies
if you still dont feel well see your doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hello, First, its a good thing you are seeing a Dr!. Younger and younger people are getting heart problems and its best when you address in the start!. It may be due to stress, working out, or caffeine, do you consume it!. Do you take any over the counter medication!? Diet pills!? Because they can harm your heart!.!.!. If heart disease runs in your family, your risks can be higher!. I would relax and not worry about it until you see the doctor and you know for sure what it could be!. They will probably do an EKG ( which is a test used to check electrical activity of your heart) This only takes about 2 mins and they will put sticky electrodes on your chest and connect wires!. They also may due an echo ( which is a test to check your valves and chmabers of your heart) this only takes about 15 mins and is an ultrasound!. No biggy!. Just relax until you see him and I would not exercise until you see him!.
Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com
