Yes assuming you boil it long enough to reach over 60-70 degrees Celcius or 140-150 F!. FDA prefers if you don't eat them but a lot of experts say it is ok if you boil them long enough!.
Freezing and drying doesn't work!.
Best thing would be to stick to the vine tomatoes and cherry tomatoes for now and not if they are grown in Mexico or Florida , because that is where the salmonella outbreak has been linked to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it has to rise to the temparture of 135 degrees farenheight and cook for 5 minutes to ensure all the bacteria are destroyed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think I would boil them in plain water then put them in the soup/sauce, but Yes, boiling them will kill the Salmonella!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
