Question: Ingrone toenail!?
i have a ingrown toenail and i have to get it removed im really scared to get the iv!. and 1-10 how much pain will i be in when i wake up!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My husband had his toe nail removed for the same reason and decided to walk home after surgery! He walked all the way home with a blue plastic surgical bag on his foot! It was about a 10 min walk!. Anyway, he was absolutely convinced that he was not in any pain - but about an hour later he was in quite bad pain and I had to dash out for strong pain killers!.
Your hospital should give you some strong pain killers, but if they don't, ask your phamacy for the strongest they can sell you over the counter - buy these before the procedure so that they are ready for you when you need them!.
The pain I gather is more of a throbbing pain, but nothing that strong pain killers can't handle!. I think you will be fine when you wake up, but make sure you take the pain killers and don't walk home! lol!.

Oh and if its any consolation - people say that ingrown toe nail comes back again but my husband has never had it again and it has been about 10 years now!.
PS looking at him I would say the pain was prob about a 6 or a 7 but it probably didn't help that he walked home!. He would of course tell you (as he told me) that it was worse than giving birth!.!.!.this is a man who expects it to be on the news if he has sneezed!. lolWww@Answer-Health@Com
