Abnormal mole???!

Question: Abnormal mole!?!?!?
I have a large mole above my right breast and its kind of a dark red/brownish, its puffy and has a white little bump on it!. The skin around it is kind of the same color and it looks a little different than the last time I checked!. Should I see a normal doctor or dermatologist!? My family has a history of cancer (various types) and my dad has a mole that he won't get checked out and my cousin has had some removed!. Aside from seeing the doctor, does anyone know what they do to check the mole out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A mole that changes shape, color or shade should be considered malignant until proven benign by Doctors!.

It's very important you see a doctor and ask for a biopsy, a mole could indicate skin cancer!.!. Sorry if I seem drastic but things like this shouldn't go without medical attention!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it has various colours and has changed shape, yes!.

Go straight to your GP, and they'll probably refer you to an oncologist!.

However, there is a good chance that the mole isn't cancerous, and you have nothing to worry about, but still go to the doctor because it's better to be safe than sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dermatologist!. A regular mole always stays the same, and doesn't get any bigger, and doesn't change shape!. Both sides are identical!. You should really, under all circumstances get it checked out ESPECIALLY if your family has a history of cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Generally the look at the color and texture!. If it changes, then it should be removed immediately!.

If it's raised, they generally remove it and the surrounding tissue!. Most moles are benign, but don't wait to let go cancerous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to your doctor!. He will say if it's OK or send you to a specialist to have it checked!. I've had it done!. The doctor will show you pictures of safe and dodgy moles!. Don't waste time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are no other safe options! Your GP is fine initially, if he is unhappy or uncertain, he will refer you on to a pigmented lesion clinic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
